The greatest costs of operating a ship on a specific route over water include fuel costs. Any decrease in fuel consumption will directly and proportionally lead to a reduction in operating costs. Since up to 70% of the propulsive energy of a ship is needed to overcome hydrodynamic resistance (friction), keeping the hull and propeller surfaces smooth will minimize waste and increase the speed and/or distance gained with the burning of a barrel of fuel.

Having underwater pipelines open not only brings advantages in terms of propulsion efficiency but also provides other economic benefits. Clearing blocked intake grates enhances the flow of water to the internal machinery, improving pump efficiency and reducing wear. Regularly cleaning the hull not only contributes to fuel savings but also lowers carbon emissions, prevents the formation of biological fouling, thereby extending the effective lifespan of anti-fouling coatings. Addressing the initial appearance of barnacle formation reduces the likelihood of external hull corrosion and pitting.

Prior to the IWS conducted with CCTV, it is essential for the hull to be clean. Unclean hulls may not allow a clear visualization of the condition of welds, paint, etc."

With our experienced and reliable team of professionals, we bring years of expertise in underwater services and the ability to overcome any situation. Whether it's inspection, repair, or cleaning, our teams are trained and certified to perform all kinds of tasks safely and efficiently. It is known that underwater cleaning is prohibited in some countries. The initiative is entirely in the hands of the relevant Port Authorities. Please contact us for information on this matter.
